How to crochet a cupcake beanie

How to Crochet Adult Size Cupcake Beanie


WRITTEN PATTERN IN PDF FORM:
1- Go to the FREE DOWNLOADS bobwilson123 folder that is located on the left hand side and find the pattern you want.
2-Click add to cart. When you have all the patterns you want to download, click checkout. You will have to sign up to the website, but you only have to do this once.
3- Select PAYPAL as the payment (don’t worry its free, but you have to select a PAYPAL for it to work ) and then process the purchase.
4- After it has processed go to MY ACCOUNT and it will be under download

Supplies: 2 colors for striped icing and chocolate brown for the cake part, scissors and sewing needle

AU 8 ply yarn/ US 4 ply yarn 100gms
4.00 mm hook/ US G/6

US terms used through out pattern
St’s Used:
Sl st = slip stitch
Ch = chain
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc= double crochet

Begin at top of hat, icing

Ch 4, sl st to first ch to form a ring

Notes: ch 2 is the first hdc of the rounds, work color changes as per video tutorial or as you please

Row 1, ch 2, work 11 hdc into ring, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round, (12 hdc)

Increase rows

Row 2, ch 2, work 1 hdc in same space as ch 2, work 2 hdc’s in each hdc to end, sl st to join round (24 hdc)

Row 3, ch 2, work 1 hdc into next hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 2 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 4, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 2 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 3 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 5, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 3 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 4 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 6, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 4 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 5 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 7, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 5 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 6 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 8, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 6 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 7 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 9, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 7 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 8 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 10, ch 2, work 1 hdc into each of the next 8 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 9 hdc, work 2 hdc into next hdc, * repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Stop increases

Row 11, ch 2, work 1 hdc in each hdc to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round
Repeat row 11 until your hat is the height you desire, please refer to the video tutorial instructions

Join in chocolate brown for bottom of cake

Row 1, ch 2, work 1 hdc into the back loop only of each hdc to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 2, ch 2, work 1 hdc into next hdc, work 1 front post hdc around the next hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 2 hdc, work 1 front post hdc around the next hdc,* repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Row 3, ch 2 work 1 hdc into next hdc, work 1 front post hdc around the next front post hdc, *work 1 hdc into each of the next 2 hdc, work 1 front post hdc around the next front post hdc,* repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 2 to join round

Repeat row 3 until you have the hat height you desire

Adding the iced edging, turn your hat upside down and work into the both loops of the last row of the icing

Sl st join, with same color yarn as the last

Row 1, ch 3, work 6dc into same space as join, skip 2 st’s, work 1 sl st into next, skip 2 st’s, *work 7 dc into next st, skip 2 st’s, work 1 sl st into next,* repeat from *to* to end, sl st to top of the ch 3 to join round (please refer to video tutorial #3, if your st count is out) finish off

Sew in all loose ends, decorate with sprinkles, this can be achieved with small beads, yarn etc, add a pompom for a cherry if you wish
